Following the FCDO-DSIT Compute Canada Mission in February — which saw visits to the Vector Institute in Toronto, Simon Fraser University, and the University of Victoria — the Baskerville team is now leading a new working group focused on improving access to HPC and AI training across the UK. The initiative, supported by UKRI, brings together key partners including DiRAC and STFC to explore how training resources can be better shared, discovered, and coordinated across UK HPC providers and beyond.
The working group’s goal is to make it easier for researchers and users at all levels to find the HPC and AI training they need, wherever it may be hosted. While still in its early stages, the project is exploring ways to better connect existing training portals across the UK’s national computing facilities, with a view to building stronger international links in the longer term.
